Innovation & Entrepreneurship
For students building bold ideas, ventures, and creative solutions.
The co.space is an experiment in what happens when thoughtful, curious people choose to live in community. For more than a decade, dozens of Penn State organizations have helped shape that experiment. Each fall, our partners come together through a series of Community Potlucks we host. As one recent attendee shared “I finally found my people!”. Join us for an upcoming gathering over shared meals and connections.

One of the most powerful aspects of the co.space is that it gives students a place to practice what they are learning.
To support that kind of learning, the Presidential Leadership Academy sponsors Creative Project Grants for students who live at the co.space and are part of the PLA. These grants provide $1,000 in funding to help residents launch initiatives during their time in the house.
Past projects have included:
These grants create a powerful form of experiential learning — where students move beyond theory and have the opportunity to bring meaningful ideas to life.
By supporting Creative Project Grants, partner organizations help students extend what they are learning in classrooms, programs, and leadership initiatives into a living laboratory for community and impact.
For prospective tenants… To be considered for a grant, simply indicate you are a member of the Presidential Leadership Academy in your application.
For prospective partners… Please reach out if you are interested in supporting additional experiential learning opportunities by offering a grant to your students.
